United States healthcare institution is passing through massive changes because of the changings in demand and expectations of stakeholders. Over one year, $3.5 trillion has been spent on healthcare management. And the healthcare payment system will be changing in the coming years. One of the biggest reasons behind these rapidly changing trends is the integration of advancement and technology in healthcare practices (Fattore, 2019). Advancement in the medical institution makes people conscious of their health, and thus, they seek efficient physicians. On the other side, they were increasing in healthcare costs of the United States and changing economic trends of the healthcare payment system, posing challenges for both internal and external stakeholders.

The Healthcare payment system is changing with the change in quality healthcare provision because managing and delivering quality healthcare at affordable rates is not adjustable. But patients who cannot afford expensive healthcare services are at higher risk. The United States healthcare system is moving to value from the volume that would hurt the access to healthcare services. Patients are becoming cost-sensitive, and those who are paying massive amounts are looking for the value of their money. Changing healthcare payment systems poses gradual threats for patients and other stakeholders that will be challenging in the coming future.

In order to manage changing trends, most healthcare organizations are introducing online payment methods to reduce stress over frontline employees and secure their payments before treatment. In my paper, I will discuss these changing trends of healthcare payment methods in the United States and how these changing trends impact healthcare stakeholders. Although patients are the direct victims of these changing payment methods, increasing healthcare costs and changing payment methods do not suit all patients. Thus, the research paper will focus on how these changing healthcare payment methods are impacting patient's access to healthcare services today and in the future.
