guns should not be carried in school or campus.

According to npr.org, there have been 27 school shooting this year resulted in 100s injuries or deaths, 34 on 2021 which is the highest since the organization started its database.

The percentage of students in grades 9–12 who reported carrying a weapon anywhere during the previous 30 days decreased from 17 percent in 2009 to 13 percent in 2019. Similarly, the percentage of students who reported carrying a weapon on school property during the previous 30 days decreased from 6 to 3 percent during the same period.

Today I will be persuading you about the guns should not be carried in school or campus.

I has been a school and I feel scared or may be panic when I see someone carrying guns in school and that obvious, I think instead of seeing books and educational material you see a GUN.

I will present in detail the reason why carrying gun is not a good idea. I see no good in that concept. Someone might argue that they are bringing a gun with them onto campus out of fear of mass shootings on campuses, but a student could easily use that same logic to make law enforcement believe that they have no malicious plans when bringing a gun onto campus when all along they were planning to discharge it to cause terror. I believe a "sensitive area" where guns could be allowed on campuses is at security buildings or at entrances, although I am not sure if colleges have armed security guards. it can lead to reckless behavior, might cause lower enrollment due to safety expectations, it might lead to useless/accidental death, likely to increase in both homicide and suicides, and likely to increase the death of campus police officer. A  New York Times story about the first week of classes after the law took effect revealed that students are, in fact, bringing guns to class; one showed a photographer his holstered .45 in a library on campus. In mid-September, faculty members from two different buildings reported  having found bullet casings on departmental bulletin boards. One was left with a note that read, “In the land of the pigs, the butcher is king. OINK . . . OINK . . . OINK.” Another was accompanied by a note that asked, “Triggered? “School campuses are a target for criminals such as mass shooters and other who would cause harm, and a firearm is a very effective deterrent. Now I will say that firearms may not be suitable for areas such as the campus police department, court rooms, and mental health treatment facilities on campus, as there may be individuals there who seek to cause harm without care of retaliation, along with those locations often having individuals with firearms trusted with protection of others. Captain Bret collier of the University of Houston Police Department said that "We bring out a safe. It's a small safe, thumbprint," he said. "So, they get to put their thumbprint in, put the device in the box and then we take it to the back and store it. Students are in school to learn, so they do not have to be in school with a distracting learning environment where they will be concerned that their lives can be endangered by other students for any small reason. I think the answer to school violence is prevention, but not guns in schools. Eg testing center is already a stressful area. It would be simple for college students to obtain weapons that may put the lives of other students at jeopardy. Because of this, I don't believe Texas as a state requires the bill to be approved. One area in that handguns should be prohibited is in the labs with hazardous materials. Given that free speech is the foundation of academics, most students fear that having guns in the classroom will make people afraid and discourage it. This is an area for studying and learning more, guns should be prohibited from this part of the campus because it is unnecessary and brings unwanted fear into the hearts of the students in the area. I do not believe that a teenager, even at the age of twenty-one, is able to comprehend the responsibilities that come with owning a handgun. When a person is that age, there are many emotions and growing pains that you go through, mentally, and physically. Lately, those individuals involved in school shootings have been teenage individuals that are troubled mentally. According to Everytown research. Org states that allow guns at college and universities have seen student and staff alike suffer from negligent gun violence on campus.

children exposed to gun violence may experience negative short and long-term psychological effects, including anger, withdrawal, posttraumatic stress, and desensitization to violence

Solution:

Background checks can assure that previous criminals are not openly carrying firearms. If someone feels the need to carry a concealed or open carry handgun.
