Kinesiology -motor skills in ADHD
Guidelines for the paper in KINE 4323/5323:
Why? This paper is designed to help you create a link between scientific information and evidence- based practice in your career. What matters in this assignment? Good writing (grammar, spelling), following the structure, and content/critical thinking of your future profession and the connection with the articles.
STEPS: Choose a topic in motor learning or control and/or disease. If disease, it must be about motor learning and control aspects. Examples: mental imagery for training in stroke, motor skills in ADHD, action preparation in basketball, etc (there are many possibilities!).
Find TWO* EXPERIMENTAL articles (> 2016) that have explored aspects of your topic. Please note that the papers have to have an experiment to be appropriate for this paper. (A review, systematic review, opinion, proposal, etc are great ways for you to understand more about the topic and even use it for your Introduction and Discussion, but are NOT good for this paper).
Outline: o Cover page o Introduction 1 page (at least one full page) o Studies: 2 pages o Discussion of the implications and applications (applied stuff!): 2 pages o References (if any) o Image of the first page of the pdf version for each article
Use Times New Roman 12, spacing 1,5. There is no structured format for citation and references – as long as you are consistent, I am ok with any format. If you need a suggestion, use APA (it is the easiest and I use it in the template).
Notes: - You have to start early. Define your topic as soon as you can. ASK if you are not sure. - Plagiarism will not be tolerated, and you will get a zero for copying (any amount!). - Points: Total of 20 (5 points for writing/structure/format/rules, 3 points for introduction, 8 points for the article summaries [4 each], 4 points for the discussion)
