GUIDELINES #5 PART III: SECONDARY INSTITUTIONS OF CULTURE

This is more complex Analysis using Anthropology! These are more abstract terms. Use the

Anthropology terms from ALL of UNITS 3 & 4 here.

Once you’ve used the Full Anthropology Term one time, you may abbreviate it for the rest of the times

you use that term in this section.

1. Correctly Define in your own words ALL Anthropology terms from the Secondary Institutions of Culture that appy in this Culture. When there’s a choice of terms, use the most appropriate

choice for this Culture. THIS IS IMPORTANT as each term has category choices.

2. Accurately Apply each Anthropology term correctly to this Culture.

3. Use Specific Examples from the Culture to illustrate each Anthropology term defined & applied.

This Part has the hardest terms in it, judging from student papers in the past. Go to the sections that’s easiest to do & answers those questions first. Social Organization has extra points, so start there. Religion seems rather easy, too. Save the hardest for last. This section may call for a LITTLE research, but don’t do too much. Concentrate on accurately applying the terms. The kids’ books have pictures that show common economic commodities, political activities, religious practices & information about family, marriage, common interest groups. Wikipedia is a good source for brief research. CALL if you need help!
