In this assignment, you are expected to reflect on your understanding of how mass communication and mass media intersects with the concepts we have been discussing in class. Focusing on Ch. 10 (Immigration & Acculturation), 11 (Cultures within Cultures), 12 (Identity & Subgroups), and 13 (Contact between Cultures), discuss FIRST the relevance of these topics (4-5 pages)(you can pick or more than one chapter) in our current global scenario and THEN analyze the role of mass media (news coverage, social media, popular culture, etc) in highlighting the issues (5-6 Pages). BE CAREFUL NOT TO FOCUS ONLY on popular culture like film and television shows, but ALSO, to make reference to media coverage and social media when discussing the role of media.
