Class, when I grade discussion or any written assignments I use the 80/20 rule.  This means that 80% of any discussion post or written assignment must be your original work, not quoted material from another source.  Another way to say this is that no more than 20% of any discussion post or written assignment can be quoted material.  I want to hear what you know, not what someone else knows.  So, skip the cut and paste and write your own responses and papers.
