Presentation Overview (Minimum of 5 key points/takeaways related to the content/discussion) |
1. The Canadian business industry is small, particularly when interacting with huge corporations. If you work in marketing or communication, you will most likely encounter the same people from time to time. |
2. Understanding and listening to the person to whom you are presenting the tale is the first step in being a good storyteller. Research is also important since you must know who you are communicating with.
3. When conversing with someone, tone and tempo of speech are vital to establish a stronger relationship, and this may now be employed in a virtual world because we can't duplicate them. It's also better to ask open-ended inquiries rather than one-worded responses. |
4. Being open to others when networking may be advantageous since it may bring chances that you were unaware of, or someone may decide to assist you.
5. Building a personal brand is essential because people would associate a certain you to a certain thing and this may provide opportunities to you that you didn’t know about, some may say they know you for this then refer you to that

Summary of your reactions and feedback on the content and main points. |

In my opinion, Meredith is a very successful professional, and one of her most valuable qualities is her ability to network. She has been able to influence her clients and even individuals around her due to her networking, such as assisting black mint in connecting with a client. She listed essential things to do while interacting with another person that will make them feel more at ease, such as mirroring, managing one's speed and tone, and being a good listener, all of which will help to be a good storyteller. This meeting taught me a lot; she pointed out tiny things I had been doing incorrectly, and I believe going forward will be a better communicator in the future.
