Briefly Explain your final project idea:

We are going to do the research about the current market and grab some datas for our business plan. The purpose of data serves to estimate budgets. Our start-up plan to do import clothings and sneakers to US. As result, it is pretty important to create the background story of our brand because it add value to customers. What we still need is a design of our brand logo, and our website and social media account to help us advertise. By doing research to know better about our competitors, we then need to estimate our advantage and disadvantage. Finally, an expected rate of return is need for investors so they can know their payback period.

Title: “ Business Plan for a U.S. Based Healthy and Organic Ethnic Korean Quick-Service Restaurant” It is a type of business plan for the restaurant in the United States. The citizen of the United States and the certain company which may want to invest for the Quick-Service Restaurant. The article, “Quick-Service Restaurant”, is shown if the company can be succeed or profitable. Additionally, it is shown the procedure once the business is started. Yes, the sample of project is appropriated for our group, because the business is shown if the quick service restaurant is profitable. Additionally, the business plan has shown if the quick service restaurant can be succeed in the United States.

Sample 2: What is it? Who reads it? What is it for? Why is it an appropriate sample for your final project?

It is a business plan about furniture on Richmond. The venture capital or other investor will see the business plan. It is for investor to see the detail about the business plan and think the possibility of success and make the economic decision. Because this sample got abundant information for total 8 pages include picture analysis, marketing data collect, specific project diversification and ettc. It has a success business plan worth us to learn.

Sample 3: What is it? Who reads it? What is it for? Why is it an appropriate sample for your final project?

This business plan is about small food business. The purpose is to give a complete and detailed description for what’s going on for the business. The income statement, financial ratio and balance sheet are given at the end of the paper so the main audience is the business people who is in the food industry and have fund in pocket to invest. One of the biggest reason that the sample is appropriate for our final project is that it covers as much as content a professional business plan covers. Besides, the feature of organization is section, which is also can be used in our project.

Design :

Feature 1: General Outline

Example: In the first page of business plan, the general outline usually appear on the end of the page

Analysis: This outline separate from several subtopic, include all of the feature that a business plan needed, all of the subtopic could be click it and then directly transfer to the exactly page. This outline is benefit to reader to see the plan clearly.

Feature 2: The design of the word format

Example : For the article, the author is used a neat and clean word format in order to make the article look clean. For the article, “ The Business Plan for a U.S. Based Healthy and Organic Ethnic Korean Quick-Service Restaurant ”, the author used double space to write the article.

Analysis : The reason why the author is designed a neat and clean to write a article is the audience is trying to make the target audience to read the article in a convenient way. Therefore, the target audience can read the more important thesis statement in the article easily, because the author used double space in the paper .

Organization:

Feature1: Directly illustrate purpose

Example: All of the samples have a simple and clearly beginning to illustrate what exactly the business plan is and what the lack of the business plan is, the money needed is also show to the beginning.

Analysis: It is efficient both for reader and plan holder because a direct plan help two side to make decision, investor will see the plan and to know the founder in the first version, a direct and effcient plan will easier to get invested.

Feature2: Organized by topic

Example: All three samples of business plan is organized by topic. For exmaple, in “Retail Furniture Manufacturer Business Plan”, the whole article is separated by 7 sections. Hyperlinks are designed at the table of content so that viewer can jump directly to the section where they are interested.

Analysis: It is significant to organized the business plan by topic because it looks like more clean for audiences, our investor. For most business plans, generally they have over 10 pages in order to give a comprehensive information to readers. A clear organization save their time to read the article so it is much easier for them to catch the key points in whole article.

Content:

Feature1: Organization summary

Example: Organization summary section includes company’s history, the ownership of the organization as well as the cost and budget for start-up in “Korean Quick-service restaurant”. While at Keith Bean’s business, it gives description of the product at the organization summary.

Analysis: The organization summary section is crucial for the whole paper because it will leave readers a positive or negative impression based on how the authors introduce the company. At another hand, start-up summary (budget) gives investor a detail information about how the fund the business get from the investor will be used. Normally this section will occupy heavily for the whole paper because investors are able to see the wellness of a company based the data shown in the paper.

Feature2: SWOT Analysis

Example: SWOT analysis is basically strength (advantage), weakness, opportunity and threat analysis for the business entity. For example, in “Korean Quick-service restaurant”, the audience do each part of SWOT analysis and give a clear explanation for each part. At Keith Bean’s business, only competition part is given, which stands for weakness and threat part.

Analysis: SWOT analysis is extremely important for a business party because it is more like a self-evaluation test. From the analysis, business part can have a better understand of their own advantage and threat as well. Investors look up the SWOT analysis because it shows exactly how large the risk for the investment is and what is the potential benefit it has.

Style:

feature 1: Academic vocabulary used

Example: There are lots of academic vocabularies are used in the paper. For instance , there are lots of financial vocabulary can be used in the business plan. Moreover, for some paragraph, the author can use academic vocabulary in the food section.

Analysis: The reason why the author used the financial vocabulary in the business plan is to show the businessman has a certain ability to manage the company well. Moreover, the academic vocabulary can be used to improve the level of the paper in order to show more professional.

Feature 2: Third person used, and passive tense

Example: Compared and Contrast with those three articles, authors use a lot of third person instead of the first person. For instance, the author can use “the business plan” as subject in a sentence. Additionally, the passive tense is a way to avoid using the first person in the paper. Therefore, the paper can be looked more professionally.

Analysis: The reason why the author used the third person word in paper can make the paper more academically. Moreover, the paper can be written in the passive tense in order to avoid the first person used in the paper. Thus, these two method can improve the level of the article.

Value:

The prior sample of business plans that is shown before are claimed the thesis statement of the business plans. The author used a neat and clean organization in order to show how the businessman can make the business successfully. Moreover,which is from the research shown in the paper, the author is trying to show how to make profit for a particular business. In the article, authors is trying to give the audience the idea, which are how to make their company and the whole society sustainable.
