Research group/culture Paper

·   Group Project/Presentation: Instructor will form teams (3 to 6 per team depending on class size). Each team will be responsible for preparing and presenting what responsibilities and functions are required in a specific Section within a Human Resources department for a public sector agency with approximately 2,000 or more employees. Each team will hand in an organizational chart of their Section along with written analysis explaining the functions necessary to be effective in providing the necessary services to all other departments, the public (if applicable), and legal obligations that are relevant to their Sections to protect the agency from potential liability. One team member will also submit the written document to Blackboard on behalf of the team. Teams will randomly select a topic after teams are formed. The Sections include Recruitment and Selection, Labor Relations, Employee Benefits/Compensation, Equal Opportunity Office, Training and Development, and Job Analysis/Classification. Here are additional guidelines:

· Each team member must be a presenter and will receive the same score as long as they participate and present material.

· Presentations must be at least 20 minutes but not longer than 30 minutes.

· Each team must create their presentation to the class using a PowerPoint format, Video format, or electronic medium of choice. Please inform the Instructor of the type of presentation medium you will be using after discussion within your team.

· Find a way to make your presentation enjoyable using humor, charm, cleverness, or other ways of capturing your audience (video clips, music, etc.). Creativity will enhance your overall grade.

· Grading will be based on how well the material is presented (i.e., not thrown together the night before). Non-presenting teams will be expected to ask questions.

· Each team member will assess their fellow team members, and each non-presenting team will assess all other presenting teams.
