Main Question and Theme
Introduction
Investigating in the factors that affect students’ GPA are always important because it helps the student learn the priorities between their school work achievements and their personal life activities. It also shows students the balance in their schedule they should take into consideration to achieve success in their academics.
Our group selected three different variables for this project, including clubs, sleep, and credit hours. We assumed that the more clubs a student joins, the lower the GPA. The amount of sleep positively correlates with the GPA; the more amount of sleep a person gets, the higher the GPA. Also, our group suspects that the more credit hours a student takes, the lower their GPA, since they have to manage their schedule differently by studying more subjects at the same time.
Sources of Data and Variables
The data set is collected from 381 students who enrolled in the SPEA-K300 statistics techniques course during FALL 2018.
