Instructional Plan Title: |
NCTE |
|
Lesson Summary and Focus: |
This is the second lesson of the while handling this unit. The lesson will focus on the importance of NCTE in English language arts. |
|
Classroom and Student Factors/Grouping: |
Learners are normally put in groups. No learner is allowed to work individually. They all work in groups. These groups will be created by instructors based on the learners abilities. Among the 31 learners in class, three of them have an IEP and therefore, they will require additional materials and even time so as to ensure that they are in line with others. This can be achieved by placing learners in a group with top achievers so that they can provide additional help to them
|
|
National/State Learning Standards: |
Performance standards: analysis and evaluation of the concept of NCTE and a comparison of the currenting alignment standards in English language to that of other art languages. 9-12 Benchmark: Analysis of the primary root of alignment standards and factors that contributed to its formation.
|
|
Specific Learning Target(s)/Objectives: |
· If provided with all necessary materials, learner should be able to express standards through presentation of the activities. · Learner should be able to express their power in alignment standards through activity presentation. · Given all the necessary materials learners should be able to express their creativity and talents.
|
|
Academic Language |
Alignment: refers to the reforms necessary in brining a better coherence and efficiency towards a curriculum or even an education system. NCTE: an abbreviation standing for ‘National Council for Teacher Education’. This is a commission whose role is to oversee all the standards and procedures in the discipline sector. This term is crucial as it will enhance the understanding of the concepts required in this unit.

Section 2: Instructional Planning
|
Anticipatory Set · I will begin by asking students questions about the issues covered in the last class. · I will utilize a video about the alignment standards followed by brief question when the video is over. · I will project sketch but essential ideas on the white board then ask the learners to respond to them.

Time Needed
12 minutes |

Multiple Means of Representation · I will utilize captioned video that are relevant to the topic being discussed. · I will use a comprehensive electronic and print media that will be specifying all course requirements, expectations as well as task due dates. · I will capitalize on examples together with illustrations relevant to the course assignment.
Explain how you will differentiate materials for each of the following groups:
· English language learners (ELL): This can be achieved through the following ways . profiling of the learners readiness because it will be vital in determining the degree with which learners i'll understand these issues taught. It will also aid the creation of lesson plans. Secondly is through creating learner profiles. After properly figuring out learners readiness, creating their profiles is an essential step in differentiating classroom experience because it will aid easy grouping of the learners as per their potentials (Park, 2014). The last step is coming up with differentiated strategies suitable for each learner because understanding will be enhanced.
· Students with special needs: Utilizing collaborative activities since students tend to learn best from their peers as compared to the instructors. Another technique is utilizing assistive technology like screen readers, voice recognition and special software for special needs learners. All these will ensure the learners are inclusive. Peer tutoring will also be important as it will make these learners remain at par with others.
· Students with gifted abilities:
Offering them the most difficult tasks compared to other learners because their sharpness is far higher compared to other learners. I will also encourage them to work together in groups at all times despite the power that is in them. This will enhance the knowledge that is in them (Martin & Bolliger, 2018).
· Early finishers (those students who finish early and may need additional resources/support):
Assigning them with more work compared to other learners to ensure that their time is utilized well. assigning them to help teach other learners after completing their tasks.

Multiple Means of Engagement · I will create a safe and welcoming environment for all learners. · Integrating learning services with available opportunities. · I will integrate video and podcasts during lectures.
Explain how you will differentiate activities for each of the following groups: · English language learners (ELL): Offering multiple opportunities for practicing new vocabulary, using graphic organizers and offering both written and oral instructions (Park, 2014).
· Students with special needs:
Forming smaller groups for efficiency, formulating classroom centers and also blending basic instructions with specialized instructions.
· Students with gifted abilities:
Preparing to take it up from the learners as they are challenging in classes and responding to their individual interests.
· Early finishers (those students who finish early and may need additional resources/support):
Assigning them additional duties related to helping other learners and instructor duties.

Multiple Means of Expression Students should respond to a multiple choice quiz after every class and they will be expected to score more than half of the CAT mark. Besides, they will be expected to write a one paragraph reflection accompanied with an evaluation of the class on matters understood well and those that they require clarification.
Explain how you will differentiate assessments for each of the following groups: · English language learners (ELL): Assigning them tasks meant to test their level of understanding. They will be expected to take tasks involving writing complete sentences (Park, 2014).
· Students with special needs:
Incorporating multiple strategies of expressions taking into considerations both video and audio. This will ensure that their expression is taken into consideration inclusively (Alario-Hoyos et al., 2017).
· Students with gifted abilities:
Assigning them difficult tasks that they need to write a reflection and respond to them.
· Early finishers (those students who finish early and may need additional resources/support):
Asking them to write slightly longer reflection that will consume more of their time, making them spend time in a similar way like others.

Summary
Putting learners in groups while addressing their issues is essential because of the peer support that they provide one another with. When creating the groups, instructors should be careful to ensure that any group formed remains productive. This is even more helpful when learners are mixed up. That is gifted learners, fast learners, ELL and those learners with special needs. Anticipatory level of learners can be enhanced through asking them questions, introducing a lesson by audio visual tools and using a projector to display what needs to be covered. Representation can be done through using electronic media and utilizing examples and illustrations. Representation strategies vary from one group of learners to the other. However making use of collaborative and inclusive strategies and check on the pace of delivery can help solve all these issues. Inclusive and collaborative approach include embracing group learning and integrating technology. Learner engagement can be supported through inducing a conducive learning environment, integrating learners with opportunities and incorporating video podcasts during a class. To enhance corporation, learners should take part in a quiz at the end of the class.
Utilization of CLC comes with a number of advantages and disadvantages. CLC’s benefits is that it enhances the students achievement since it articulates thoughts in learners formally. This in turn refines the understanding of the learners. Another advantage is that it supports the creation of critical and lifelong thinkers who can comfortably live in a postindustrial society. creativity is necessary and thus mastering it can be essential. Another pro is that it results to establish a curriculum which has both meaning and purpose. This is because it entails incorporation of bigger ideas throughout its development. CLC on the other hand has a number of cons. Arming the students with required and necessary resources and skills has remained a great challenge. Another important challenge is embracing the learners into fitting in the new learning environment might take longer time than usual, making the process unproductive.
