Great Plains Project Assignment Details
You should start with Chapter 1 and proceed through the materials without skipping any parts.
The sticker in the lower-left corner of the Instructions & Assignments book cover includes the one-time-use code that you will need to access the Microsoft Dynamics GP software and datasets via DynamicsCloud. The code is hidden by a scratch-off coating in the middle of the sticker. Information about how to use the cloud access code begins on page 1-7 of the Instructions & Assignments book .
BECAUSE THE CODE CAN ONLY BE USED ONE TIME, YOU SHOULD NOT PURCHASE A USED BOOK NOR SHOULD YOU RENT THIS TEXTBOOK. YOU CANNOT REGISTER WITH DYNAMICSCLOUD UNLESS YOU HAVE A NEW ACCESS CODE THAT HAS NOT BEEN PREVIOUSLY REGISTERED.
The software comes with 2 company datasets which you will be accessing:
1) Fabrikam, Inc., which is shared by the entire class and
2) Warren Sports Supply (which is specific to you).
Warren Sports Supply is the same company we used in the Systems Understanding Aid (SUA). We will be recording all those transactions from the source documents into GP.
Consult the reference book instructions carefully in order to avoid errors. If you have unrecoverable errors in Chapter 8 (Waren Sports Supply’s main chapter), DynamicsCloud can restore the Waren dataset for an additional $10 fee . You can request a database restore and pay for the restore through PayPal by going to the signup page at DynamicsCloud.
You may access the software from a windows machine using several browsers. For MacBook Pro you may access via Firefox.
PLEAS READ ALL OF THE HELPFUL HINTS AND TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS ON PAGES 1-16 THROUGH 1-19.
Pages 1-16 through 1-19 of the Instructions Assignments book include several hints and troubleshooting strategies that you should read in detail before registering with DynamicsCloud and starting work with the software.
Complete all material in the assignment before completing the assigned problems.
