It was also challenging to explain how the grant could help to improve the criminal justice system without getting too detailed or overwhelming. The easiest part of writing the statement was providing evidence to support my arguments. A wealth of research is available on community policing and its potential impact on crime rates and public safety. Additionally, I could easily find information on the COPS grant and how it could be used to support local law enforcement agencies.
