Introduction

A personal leadership philosophy refers to principles and beliefs that

individuals can use to analyze information and respond to situations and

people. It can guide a leader through dif�cult situations that need appropriate

decision-making (Alison, 2018). Most leaders do not know how to explain what

kind of leader they are and their general leadership speci�cations. This paper

will focus on my core values, personal mission or vision statement, Clifton

strengths evaluation analysis, two of my behaviors that need to be

strengthened, and a development plan that elucidates how I plan to enhance

them.

My Core Values

Core values are the main principles that determine an individual leadership

behavior. I chose the nursing profession because I am a very caring person.

Caring is a signi�cant core value in nursing because it unites and modi�es the

nursing profession for individuals who practice holistically. Besides, caring

fosters health and better patient outcomes for a faster recovery. Apart from

caring, I am open-minded, respectful, reliable, compassionate, dependable,

transparent, and responsible.

Additionally, I have integrity and therapeutic ability. Integrity is always linked to

emotional intelligence that means that individuals can identify and control

their emotions. I utilize these positive core values to develop objectives for my

team while exercising transformational leadership (Pedro, Liliana, Danilsa,

2017).

My mission statement is “to be a knowledgeable and steadfast learning nurse

while offering compassionate and empathetic care, maintaining the integrity

and being respectful of patients' choices and all cultures. Besides, I would like

to offer quality and affordable healthcare services, to teach and to direct

individuals on how to live healthy lives.” My vision statement is “to attain my

master’s degree in nursing, to be a leader in my work area who will be a

resourceful to other team members, approachable, and respected by everyone.”

My Clifton Strengths Assessment

Activator, maximizer, intellection, self-assurance, and competition are my top

�ve themes. According to research, if I concentrate on my pieces separately

and combine them, I will discern my talent, augment them into strengths, and

relish career and personal prosperity. Accomplishing the Clifton Strenghts

assessment was crucial because it enables me to comprehend my strengths,

areas of improvement, and values. I realized that my self-assurance lets me

feel con�dent and manage my duties. I think that the decisions I make about

the patients’ treatment are right and communication.

Additionally, being an activator has enabled me to turn my perceptions into

action. This has also helped me assist nurses who delay decision-making and

block approvals to improve patients' care and outcomes. The maximizer theme

is vital because it encouraged me to concentrate on its strengths to revive my

team's excellence. My articles have enabled me to lead my team towards the

attainment of our objectives. Additionally, understanding my themes will allow

me to encourage internal surveys and growth.

Descriptive Behaviors that I Wish to Strengthen

The two main behaviors that I would like to strengthen are my con�dence and

delegation competence. I received the lowest score on the two behaviors. Trust

is vital in nursing because it enables nurses to execute their tasks competently

in their speci�c clinical �eld (Ann-Marie, Fleur, Nichola, & Rose, 2021).

Con�dence is always linked to success; hence, I want to empower my team to

be con�dent to approach their duties with professionalism, excitement, and

curiosity. Besides, con�dence leads to nursing innovation, thoughtful

leadership, and more robust clinical practice. Patient care involves different

time-consuming tasks; hence delegation is the best approach to assist nurses

in spending their time productively. Delegation saves a lot of time and

enhances the quality of patient care. Additionally, the delegation will enable me

to lead and train my team effectively. Both delegation competence and

con�dence advance patient outcomes and quality of life.

Development Plan

I will enhance my con�dence and delegation competence through progressive

practice and outcomes evaluation. Besides, I will progressively delegate duties

to all members of my team equally. Additionally, I will involve them when

sharing the responsibilities to give their insights about it. The team members

will also be asked to provide feedback to understand how my leadership

behavior affects them. To attain my vision, I must step out of my coziness and

actively work toward achieving my master's degree. Similarly, I will use my

leadership skills to empower my team and the patients under our care.

Approaching my work with an upbeat leadership style will enable me to attain

my vision.
