Graduate School Essay

Two (2) parts:

1.) Biographical Sketch / Intellectual History

 2.) Research Statement

      a.) generally outline your research interests + previous RESEARCH experience you've already done

      b.) Why you want to go to THEIR grad school

      c.) rationale to work with specific faculty members -- choose 2 per program to talk about

      d.) mention, preferably QUOTE a published article or book that was written by those faculty           members
