Research Paper Grading Rubric - Social Policies and Services

This research paper provides students an opportunity to integrate course materials and content, alongside outside sources, to address issues of social welfare and social policy. The paper reflects the core course objectives and practice behaviors set forth by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Students must include five (5) references using scholarly, peer-reviewed articles. Students will select one of the following research topics: Healthcare, Disabilities, Immigration, Environmental Justice, Economic Justice (hunger, housing, retirement income, etc.), Cultural and Racial Justice (civil rights, affirmative action, equal rights, anti-discrimination, etc.), Social Justice, Religious Justice (freedom of religion), LGBTQ+ Rights, Gender Equality.

Insight and ideas

· Provide a detailed overview of the topic.

· Discuss an advocacy strategy for the challenges presented to obtain support for the proposed policies.

Organization, Mechanics and APA style.

The research paper should range between 8-10 pages not including the title page or references. Less than 8 full pages, results in an automatic 5-point reduction.
