Aisha, In the era of instant public information, video, and social media, police must always be mindful that the public is watching how police officers interact with the public. Being a public servant comes with high expectations that officers will conduct themselves with honesty, humanity, and within our laws even if no one is watching. When everyone has a soapbox through social media officers will be judged in the court of public opinion if something goes wrong. Therefore, learning to enhance your emotional intelligence and making good decisions under

Aisha, Prosecutorial misconduct is a serious problem and derails the justice system. Prosecutorial misconduct occurs when a prosecutor breaks a law or a code of professional ethics in the course of a prosecution. Former California Assistant District Attorney explained that prosecutors are entrusted with determining who will be held accountable when a crime occurs. They hold a great deal of power. They work with the police as they gather evidence and build a case against a suspect. Then, they take that case to court and are charged with convincing a jury of the guilt of the suspect. First and foremost, it is the prosecutor’s job to seek justice and present the judge and jury with facts and legal arguments that result in the conviction of the guilty defendant. Overall Feedback

Aisha, A gratuity is the gift of an item to another person based solely on their occupation. A gratuity is most often given to officers by workers in the service industry, such as manager, waiters, and bartenders. Most departments have a policy on officers accepting gratuities. Even if small gratuities are allowed by department policy, each individual will have to determine their comfort accepting or declining, and also keep in mind the perception of the citizens who might witness this happening. Overall Feedback

Aisha, Police accountability has become a political hot potato. Qualified immunity protects police officers and other types of government officials from civil litigation in certain circumstances, allowing lawsuits only when an individual's “clearly established” statutory or constitutional rights have been violated. There are good credible arguments on both sides of this issue. when enhanced-interrogation techniques were used. The exclusionary rule is a legal rule, based on constitutional law, that prevents evidence collected or analyzed in violation of the defendant's constitutional rights from being used in a court of law. Using enhanced- interrogation techniques to gather intelligence or evidence prevents the US government from using these confessions to secure convictions in federal courts.
