Project
Part 3: Baseline and Goal
The purpose of this part of the project is to coordinate your goal with your student’s needs. What you will need to do is look at your student’s present placement and review the educational file and educational background.
Include the academic placement and background information. Also include the student’s current identification and services in special education from your case study. Identify specific areas of need. Describe the baseline data you used, and correlate to the student’s disability. Based on your baseline, write an appropriate goal for your instruction. Plot the baseline data, goal, and aimline.
Identify what intervention will be used based on the student’s need, and include what assessment device will be used at the end of each session. Make sure your goal includes all components:
C (condition)
N (name)
B (observable, measurable behavior)
C (criteria)
Academic Example:
Given a 5th grade reading probe, John will read 85 words correct per minute for 3 consecutive data points as measured by oral reading probes following each instructional session.
Behavior Example:
Given 10 minutes of free time, Joe will engage in 3 verbal interactions with peers using 4 word positive or neutral sentences 14 out of 20 occasions over a 4 week period.
