I. Introduction

A. First sentence that catches attention

1. Imagine standing in the middle of a scorching hot dessert, that was previously a luscious rain forest, breathing in carbon dioxide and soaking in 10,000 times as much radiation as is needed to cause cancer. Unimagine right? Well not so unimaginable because according to scientist at NASA, if the earth’s ozone continues to disappear at the rate it is, the scenario mentioned is a possibility by the year 2065.

B. Define global warming-

1. “ Global warming is the long-term heating of Earth’s climate system observed since the pre-industrial period (between 1850 and 1900) due to human activities, primarily fossil fuel burning, which increases heat-trapping greenhouse gas levels in Earth’s atmosphere” (Overview: Weather, Global Warming and Climate Change, 2019).

C. Thesis: Global warming is very harmful to human health on the surface and internally.

II. The changing climate due to global warming is damaging to humans because it damages the largest organ we have, an organ that is our first level of protection. The human skin.

A. Humans do not have a full suit of armor to protect them at all times, but they do have a soft layer of protection called the skin.

B. The UV rays and radiation increase from global warming can cause several skin cancers, malformations and lesions.

C. Not only can the rays affect the skin, but the human eye can be severely damaged by the harmful rays that can emit from the sun without the protection of the ozone layer which is being destroyed by global warming.

III. The destruction global warming has on humans is not just skin deep, it extends to the internal wellbeing of every human on the planet.

A. The effect of global warming extends to plants and animals on the planet, as consumers of both plants and animals, humans are at risk of losing food supply and eating plants or animal that are affected by the changes global warming are causing

B. With the earth getting warmer and warmer, the conditions are become more and more appropriate for disease for animals, plants, and therefore humans.

IV. Conclusion

A. The continued speed at which humans are producing greenhouse gasses that are contributing to global warming is harming mankind both internally and externally.

B. We as humans are obligate to save ourselves, the wildlife around us, and the planet we live on.
