Cultural competence is the ability to understand and interact effectively with people from different cultures.
It is a well-known fact that international competition is intensifying from day to day, and often the success of a company depends not on the products manufactured, their prices and service, but on the ability to communicate correctly with foreign partners also successful contacts with representatives of other cultures are impossible without practical skills in intercultural communication. According to Cambridge University research in the field of theory and practice of management, a person's business success depends only on 15% of his special or professional competence and 85% on the ability to communicate with other people.
In order to avoid breaking business partnerships between representatives of different cultures, it is necessary to take into account the influence of cultural factors on business activities so to win international competition, managers working in the international market must learn not only the rules of business conduct and business protocol of their business partners, but also understand their national character, management traditions and way of thinking.
CULTURE,BUSINESS ETHICS and MANAGEMENT TRADITIONS.
One of the essential features of the Korean national character, which is vividly manifested in the negotiations, is respect for the social hierarchy and an emphasized display of respect for the elders. These traits of national character were also formed under the influence of Confucian-Buddhist ethics. In the Korean delegation during negotiations, an open demonstration of the service hierarchy reigns, bosses and subordinates never communicate on an equal footing, even in an informal setting. The junior in rank does not have the right to be the first to start a conversation. During communication, the junior in status should warn the wishes of the senior.
When talking to Koreans, you shouldn't look them directly in the eyes. A direct gaze is regarded as psychological pressure or even as a threat.
At the beginning of the negotiations, you should introduce all the participants from your side and invite the guests to do the same. The greeting is pronounced in the Korean tradition with a slight bow. P At the negotiations, immediately after the end of the protocol part, they proceed to the main business issues, the conversation is assertive, formulating their positions clearly and clearly. They will not convince you of the erroneousness of your views, they will not openly express their disagreement with your opinion, the right hand lies on the left. Serve and shake the right hand.
During business negotiations, they attach particular importance to clothing. For men, a strict business suit will be appropriate here, women will have to give up trousers. Most business meetings are scheduled mid-morning or mid-afternoon. You must make an appointment in plenty of time so ideally a couple of weeks before you wish to meet. Punctuality is important as it is a sign of respect.
• When laughing, it is better to cover your mouth with your hand, because an open mouth is considered rude in Korea.
•It is best practice to remove your shoes before entering a Korean home
Finding a place to live
According to visitors review Incheon is most safe and cultural side in Seoul.
Incheon is a suburb east of Seoul, close to the coast. It is environmental friendly modern city. Our employees will enjoy life away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. They can live in Seoul without having to actually live in Seoul.
That doesn’t mean they’ll lack things to do here, though. Incheon is an autonomous metropolitan center in its own right!
Incheon is home to the country’s major international airport and a modern seaport. The zone includes an amusement park, numerous places to shop and eat, and plenty of parks in addition to the international banking and business venues.

Enrolling children in school
Due to language barriers and curriculums, nearly all expats in Korea have chosen to send their children to international schools instead of local Korean public schools. International schools in Korea provide high-quality education in English. International schools in Korea are open to both local Koreans and international students.
Schools in Korea are fully justifiably regarded as some of the most prestigious secondary education institutions in the world. The successes of South Korean giants such as LG, Hyundai, Samsung and a number of other high-tech brands make it clear that the approach to the educational process here is special - deep, fundamental and progressive. It is quite logical that therefore the population of South Korea has 542 points on the test of reading literacy, knowledge of natural sciences and mathematics - such an assessment of reality is carried out annually by the OECD organization. For comparison, on average for the countries of the European Union, this indicator ranges from 489-511 points.
