You can ignore the questions on pages 9 and 10 in the case.

Instead, review the four items listed on page 8. For each of them, outline a specific course of action for both the near and long term. In other words, what action needs to be taken in the next 30 days to resolve the immediate issue and why. Then, what should be done over the ensuing 90 days to safeguard against being is this situation again. Do this for all four issues.

In addition, formulate an actionable staffing plan for the opening of a second hotel. “Actionable” means that someone ought to be able to execute the plan as you have outlined it. The plan should contain both strategies and tactics. What will you be trying to achieve and how will you do so? For example, is your goal is to ensure compliance with regulations, what systems should be in place to ensure that recruiting and selection actions are in compliance with all regulations and that the most qualified people are hired. You should do this for any employment actions related to opening the hotel such as promoting current employees at the Georges to the new hotel.

As a reminder, this is an individual assignment. You should hand in an individual treatment of the case. You can, however, discuss your analysis and actions with classmates to ensure that you are on track. If you do so, please indicate who you have collaborated with on your case.
