GEOLOGY GROUP PROJECT INFORMATION AND GUIDELINES

1. Students will self-enroll into groups of 5 members - Use the Student Geology Project Groups tab within the Geology Project Content Area to select your group. Each Group has an assigned geologic topic, so it is first come, first served with group topics choices. - Each group member will focus on a specific sub-topic and groups will need to communicate about the structure on incorporating everyone’s portion into one final group project report.

2. Each group member must write a report describing their portion of the group project. Each group member needs to include within their portion of the report: - One page summary of written information about your portion of the group project. - Include one data table or graph that you make using data on the web. (included citation) - One picture, graph or figure related to the information in your section (included citation) - References included within the end of the project report for all information researched within your section of the group project report - Students will submit typed report, done in a professional manner (including a cover page, reference section, etc.) on ecampus.

3. Final Group Project Should Include: - A cover page with the Report Title, Group member names and a picture that represent the group report topic. - A table of contents page detailing what page number each group member’s topics begin and the name of who wrote those sections. - A professional style group report – make it flow and look professional. - New Times Roman 12 pt font - 1 inch margins - Single spacing - A reference section that includes everyone references in alphabetical order, using the format of: - Author last name, first. Year. Title. Source or web address accessed.

Cite references within the report by using the format of: - (Author last name, Year). Do this at the end of each sentence that uses that source.
