Rock report

Idaho State University’s Pocatello Campus features the Centennial County Rock Walk, with rocks from Idaho counties located across campus in a rough approximation of the shape of the state:

You must find 1 sedimentary rock, 1 igneous rock, and 1 metamorphic rock on the Rock Walk to complete this assignment. For your report, you must 1) include a photo for each rock you use, 2) describe the rock in detail and using the correct words (e.g. “crystal size” for igneous and metamorphic rocks and “grain size” for sedimentary rocks), and 3) interpret how the rock was formed, justified using your observations from part 2. You should also include a map showing where your rocks are located (consider just adding annotations to the map image in this file). For clarity, please format the report like:

Igneous rock: {Name of county rock is from, name of rock if available on signage}

Map

Photo: {photo of igneous rock}

Observations: {fill these in here}

Interpretations: {fill these in here}

Sedimentary rock: {Name of county rock is from, name of rock if available on signage}

Reports must be typed, double-spaced, normal margins, 12 pt. font. All of your content must be in a single file (insert photos and maps into document). You must use complete sentences and correct grammar/spelling.
