Government Assignment

I don't think anyone should leave their American Government course without knowing who their representative is. So, in the first part of this discussion, you should answer the question, "Who is your Congressman?" You can easily find this information on the Web, by searching your city name and the word "Congressman." After you tell us who your Congressman is, I'd like you to do a little research on the Web, and locate a bill that Congress is currently working on that interests you. Tell us about the bill, and why or why not your think it should pass or should not pass. For those of you who are following the $700 billion dollar bailout package that was rejected in Congress today (9/29), you could research whether your Congressman voted to pass it or voted against it. Tell us if you think your Congressman made a good decision, and whether or not you agreed with his vote. It should make for a great discussion! Try to get into this assignment because, it has the potential to be a very interesting. Most Americans have no idea what bills Congress is considering at any given time, but these bills change our lives. Here are a few links to articles I found that may spark some interest!
