Florida  State  College  at  Jacksonville   HUS3022:  Building  Stronger  Families  and  Communities     The  genogram  paper  is  25%  of  the  total  class  points.  In  order  to  earn  maximum  points,  the   genogram  paper  merit  submission  in  a  format  that  evidences  a  commensurate  level  of   commitment.     The  Genogram  paper  is  worth  250  points  and  is  due  in  MODULE  7.    

Genogram  Paper     This  paper  is  an  opportunity  for  you  to  discuss-­‐in  depth  what  you  learned  about  yourself  and   your  family  of  origin  from  completing  the  genogram.  Include  and  reference  information  you   have  learned  through  the  readings,  discussion  boards,  and  research  assignments,  or  other   research  you  have  conducted  that  has  helped  you  to  understand  the  affect  of  family  of  origin   patterns  on  your  life  course.       The  paper  must  include  a  discussion  of  a  minimum  of  three  patterns  that  you  observed  in   your  family  that  were  evidenced  in  the  multi-­‐generational  process,  how  you  understand  these   patterns,  and  the  ways  these  patterns  have  impacted  your  life  and  continue  to  affect  you   today.  The  three  patterns  that  you  discuss  must  be  clearly  evidenced  on  your  actual   genogram.         In  your  conclusion,  discuss  the  value  of  the  genogram  as  a  tool  for  the  Human  Service   professional  and  how  its  use  would  benefit  families  who  access  the  services  of  Human   Services  professionals.       Any  material  used  from  the  readings  or  other  sources  must  be  clearly  cited  in  your  paper,  and   a  reference  page  included.  You  are  encouraged  to  conduct  additional  research.  However,   random  Internet  websites  are  not  to  be  used  as  your  sources.         Minimum  Requirements:  5  pages,  12pt  Times  New  Roman,  Double  Spaced,  1.25”  margins.       APA  format  (Papers  can  be  longer)  Minimum  3  references.  References  must  be  from  books,   class  readings,  peer  reviewed  articles,  and  material  from  the  class  (videos).  The  reference   page  does  not  count  as  one  of  the  five  pages.
