This week, you identify and discuss alternative points of view about that topic.

1. Locate the topic you chose in Week 1 using the " Opposing Viewpoints in Context ."

2. Select two viewpoints from those listed on the page.

3. Write a 200- to 300-word essay on your topic that includes responses to the following:

a. Introduce the topic you selected and briefly discuss why people might think differently about the topic. (50 to 75 words)

b. Explain the two different viewpoints you selected. The goal of your explanation is to help your reader understand the reasoning for each viewpoint. (100 to 150 words total)

c. For each viewpoint, identify one intellectual standard of thinking that is used well and one that is lacking. Review the intellectual standards of thinking discussed on p. 91 and Exhibit 5.1 on p. 102 of Ch. 5 of your text. (50 to 75 words total)

Gender Identity

Gender and sex are not interchangeable terms, gender is the social identification of male and females based on the norms and values whereas sex is the biological identification of the genders. People are expected to adopt the gender according to the biological representation hence gender identity and sexual orientation are two different aspects.

Viewpoints

Children’s gender identity and parenting is an important concern in which parents have been developing their children according to the norms and values of the society to raise the children according to demand of the society to fit in the gender norms. Now young generation is opting for gender neutral parenting. Professionals are stressing the need of unconditional love for the transgender children to help them better cope in the community. The point of view is supportive for gender identity.

Gender identity is the personal matter it is not based on the computational. Gender has multifaceted aspect that are defined in the context of the culture. Latest technology is used for recognizing the genders are needed to be advanced to judge the diversity of gender. The point of view is supportive for the gender identity and defines the new broader dimensions to adjust in the society without discrimination on the gender.
