In this term project you will improve the plant layout which will make axle’s Gear-Pinion (GP) unit. ZF plans to make 1,000 GP units per day, each unit requires five parts which can be made upon operating in different machines identified with letter (R, A, B, C, D, E, F, S). R is incoming material location (called receiving), and S is the shipping end of the line. The machines will be laid out in alphabetical order first, then check for efficiency. Using some creative ability, improve the layout and again check for efficiency improvement.

1) Introduction contains theory, literature review of each chart

3) Calculate the efficiencies for alphabetical order and your improved order to show that your layout is justifiable through that improved efficiency.
