The chart above is of a cosmetic product that has to be introduced in to the Indian cosmetic green market. The first 14 months are for conducting market research about what is already in the market, prices, the competitors, size of the market, existing loopholes that the products can feel as well as what the customers think about them. Questionnaires and interviews are the mode of collecting data that shall be used in this case. During this time, the building requirements for the product will be created which will aid in the important decisions such as the ingredients to be used when creating the product (Rosen,2015)
Critical points are in the weeks, 14, 16,24 and 25. They are critical because they determine whether the next phase takes place or not. Taking for instance week 14, it will not be possible to determine the name of the product if the decisions parameters will not be completed. The same case goes with the ingredients, smell and the color of the brand. By knowing what the ingredients are, the smell and the color of the cosmetic is developed. Ingredients determine the color of the ingredients. After giving out the sample for the product the customer reaction will determine whether the proceed with prototyping (Shiffman,2013).
Contingency plant will involve already predetermined name of the brand so that incase it takes long to come up with the ingredients which was supposed to determine the name of the product. Though it is not very easy, it is possible to create a given color of the cosmetic in question using very expensive chemicals. They will be used if the ingredients do not produce the expected smell and color.
