Game Online

The integration of technology in almost everything we do has had both negative and positive

impacts. The internet has become not just a source of academic information or other

entertainment such as music and movies but also a source of various games. Although most of

the games can be played offline, to most young people, the games online are more preferred.

Some of the games are good for the young generation, but some seem to impact the behavior of

gamers and make them violent and very aggressive.

From a student perspective, online games have become one of the highly preferred hobbies. The

fact that students can spend an entire night or day playing the games is not surprising. The

passion for online gaming has had both negative and positive impacts on millions of students, not

just in the country but around the globe. Personally, the adverse effects of the game online have

severe implications for students more than the positive, although those that spend time on these

games can’t realize that.

For a start, spending the entire night or day gaming implies that the person can’t create time to

do other meaningful activities such as outdoor games. Dedicating so much time to the game

online creates no time even taking or looking at the college assignment given to them. Most such

students, you will find that they look for other people to do the homework on their behalf and

can’t get any good grades out of it. Even while in class, all they think about is how they can get

out of the course and game. Some also create excuses so that they can avoid attending the classes

just to play their preferred games online or even play the games while in class-leading to lack of

concentration.

The fact that those that play online games can’t create time for other things implies that they are

addicted to the games. Just like another aspect of what addiction means, such as drug addiction,

gaming online has had a significant addiction impact on students and other people that love the

games. The people seem to lose the practical sense of the real world based on the fact that they

believe in the virtual world. A good example is those that play virtual gambling games such as

online casino games. The psychological complications associated with such addictions are

increasing. If the person doesn’t get the necessary treatment, they can completely fail to

understand the factual aspects of the real world.

The other most critical negative impact that comes with the game online and has had significant

consequences on both the players and those around them is increased aggressive behavior. Most

students want to transfer the experience from the virtual world or the virtual characters for the

games into a reality. They tend to think that they can deal with real-world problems like their

game heroes do. Failing to handle such behavior has had severe impacts, and some people have

even lost lives as the behavior changes to actual habits. Apart from aggressive behavior, online

games allow many students to run from or isolate themselves from the real problem that they

face. Just like the addicted social media platform user, virtual game players tend to think that

online games will provide them with the solution to the real problems that they face or that they

can get freedom by playing the games.

The negative impacts of the game online on students are significant and evident, which means

that both parents and institutions need to create appropriate approaches through which those

addicted to online gaming can be helped. The gaming can also have a detrimental impact on the

health of such students starting with the adverse effects on their eye-sight.
