Instructions:
· In this chapter [Chapter 7], refer to the organizational charts for Nucor (textbook p. 215).
· Using the information from Nucor’s website (>Governance>Executives), prepare an organizational chart for Nucor.
· Use the principles and best practices discussed in Chapter 7
· Discuss, citing your sources, your rationale for the new organizational chart.
· Type of organizational structure:
· Did you change the type of organization structure? Why or why not?
· What type of organizational structure is the Nucor organizational structure included on p. 215?
· Proposed effective organizational structures
· What type of organizational structure are you proposing? Why?
· Why is this proposed organizational structure more effective?
· What are the pros and cons of the current and proposed organizational structures?
· What changed? Why?
Tips :
· Identify which type of organizational structure would be most effective for Nucor (see textbook pp. 215-220);
· Address any shortcomings of current and proposed effective the organizational structure (textbook, p. 215-220).
· Follow the guidelines for developing organizational charts (Table 7-10, textbook p. 221);
· Note any “don’ts” for an organizational structure (see textbook pp. 220-221).
· Justify your answer using information from the textbook or other reputable sources;
· Remember to double space your paper.
· Cite your sources with proper APA in-text and reference citations.

TIPS:

· The proper format for reference citations include:
· Double spaced, with no extra return between the section heading, References, and each citation;
· The first line for each citation begins at the left margin and subsequent lines are indented. When using Word, the format command for Paragraph, Indentation, Special: Hanging, 0.5” and double spacing is Spacing: Before: 0 After: 0, Line Spacing: Double.
· An example citation and the proper APA citation for the textbook is in the syllabus.
