The Future - Web 3.0 or the Next Version of the Internet of Things Introduction: Part A
As you all know the one thing you can count on in the IT world is change. This exercise has you looking at the current and next developments of the Internet - Web 3.0 or the Internet of Things and Web 4.0 and 5.0????. Since so much of what we do today is with mobile and smart devices, drones, big data, and the cloud, you need to know what is being discussed and predicted regarding changes coming with the Internet. Undoubtedly, this discussion will come up as you move into your new jobs and as the development moves forward.
Directions:
1. Read the articles found in Blackboard in the Syllabus-Assignments button.
2. Answer the following questions
a. What is the web 3.0 or Internet of Things? What other terms are used to describe it?
b. What do you see it doing for us in the IT field? For the companies you may work for?
c. What do you see as 2 or 3 issues with Web 3.0?
d. What would you recommend to a company about Web 3.0?
3. Using your answers to the above questions, write a one page vision paper explaining how this might affect your job in 2023 ie what new skills might be needed, what your day might look like, and so forth. Be creative based on what you just learned about Web 3.0.
4. Submit the answers in an Appendix A attached to your vision paper.

As we move towards the future there will be many issues/trends that will impact both your private and professional lives. Some of what is happening with technology trends includes things like monitoring, drones, apps, 3D printing, and big data.
Directions:
1. Select one of the topics below by signing up for one of them in Blackboard. Only one student in each group to sign up for a topic.
2. Review the Learn More articles or videos.
3. Respond to the analysis questions and be prepared to present your responses to your group – there will be 2 groups.
4. Provided 2 additional resources on the topic – one article and one video or slide presentation on some aspect of the topic not covered in the Learn More section.
5. Submit your word document with your responses through the assignment link.
6. Evaluate your other group members’ presentation using the form at the end of this document. Submit that form with your word document.

3D PRINTING

3D printing or additive manufacturing is a process of making three dimensional solid objects from a digital file. The creation of a 3D printed object is achieved using additive processes. In an additive process an object is created by laying down successive layers of material until the entire object is created. Each of these layers can be seen as a thinly sliced horizontal cross- section of the eventual object.
