Personal Statement

Your personal statement should be at least 500 words and address the following:

· Graduate training in counseling psychology requires the student to be ready for many academic and personal challenges. The rigorous course work and self-exploration associated with this program are often as challenging as they are rewarding. Why are you seeking an advanced degree in this field? What makes you ready for these challenges?

· What special qualities, knowledge and/skills do you bring to the counseling profession? (see MCO Goals and Objectives).

· How do you see your participation in FSU’s graduate program strengthening, deepening and/or expanding your knowledge, skills and/or special qualities?

· Briefly describe your career goals. How will you contribute to the counseling profession?
