Professor and class,
· What are some effects of family life on health? To my it all is about a lifestyle. Whether its healthy or unhealthy. Smoking, stress, eating, exercise, obesity. If you live with parents that abuse you mentally, or physically or both. Having kids, can be stressful. My best friend has raised two kids by herself for half her life. I watch her constantly bust her butt to make sure that she knows she has done her part. She has high blood pressure, in 2015 she had brain surgery. Not saying that having kids ruins your life but it does take a toll on the human body. Setting aside her health, whether she goes to the gym or not, to work and put food on the table is a must for her kids.
· How might the educational system in the United States affect the health of American children? Educational system, in my mind is failing kids. Technology is failing kids. Kids are creative and smart as their brains are developing them but if they are not challenged enough we fail them. Giving them iPads and having them stare and watch T.V is doing them an injustice. Even with the stigma about vaccines, my personal belief as a LPN and a person I’d rather have my kid have autism then die from pollo because there was a slight chance that he would develop such development. As for obseity in kids, it is all about what lifestyle you choose. Kids normally do what their parents teach them or tell them. They also are followers as they learn what not to do or what to do. So if you are the person that eating McDonald’s everyday then the child will follow suit, usually. Adaptive behavior.
· How might health outcomes be affected by religious practices of members of varying religions in the United States? Are there other behaviors, outside of formal religious practice or formal religious ceremonial observances, such as dietary requirements or other behavioral requirements of members of religious institutions in the United States that might affect their health, either directly or indirectly? Religon can efffect a person diet, for example, individuals of Middle East descent do not eat pork, it is against their religion, I dont think that were a effect a person health entirely as a bad thing. More or less that would probably help due them not ingesting all the sodium and fat of the animal. This isnt a religious diet, the KETO diet does effect individuals health. They say that you should be on that diet for a certain number of months due to the high fat you are ingesting. My friend that is a nurse had a patient come in with pancreatitis because she was on the keto diet for a year. So those kids of diets can effect your health. I am not vast on what certain religions eat so I can speculate completely.
· Are there behaviors, practices, or experiences of specific demographic groups in the United States that positively or negatively affect their health? Everything that was listed is a behavior and that does effect your health. Smoking for instance, we are told it is terrible for every organ in your body, but in Europe it is a deligtously. In certain places it is a lifestyle that is known for that certain country. No matter where we go there is a going to be death and diseases. Certain lifestyles that people chose is no of my business but sometimes it does effect people negatively. vaccines be a huge controversial issue!!!!!!!!! I think vaccines should be mandatory. They are mandatory in the military why cant they be mandatory everywhere.
