From Brother Doja,
For some reasons I got carried away with other priorities and I was not faithful. I invested into some rental properties and things weren’t working the way I planned, I was struggling to keep up with multiple mortgages payment. In other for me to keep up the bills, I did make some irrational decisions by compromising on my other expenses one of them was “stop paying my tithe” Brethren would I say it wasn’t intentional.
Seven months later I realized that things still weren’t better. In my one-on-one with Pastor DOJ I explained all I was going through and he asked, “If I’m still paying my tithe”. As a worker, I was so ashamed to tell him No. He sat me down and made me realized that, God did not introduce tithe to create fear in me or to curse me, but to bless me. He went further and explain the tithing as an expression of Love. He also mentioned “what if I lose the only income” and “God can double my income” by being faithful. I took his advice and I started tithing.
This conversation happened sometimes in September this year, during that time my company was in process of merging with another company, and some of the senior managers were leaving the company. Then opportunity arise for people to move up and I was offered a lead role, I went through the job description and requirement. This position requires
· 2-3 Certifications (Yes, I have all the 3 certifications)
· Must be an American Citizen (Not qualified)
· The candidate must have Security Clearance (No)
The offer was on the table and i supposed to start Oct 25th, know full well that I don’t have Security clearance nor a citizen, and HR is expected to do background check. But I decided not to disclose my situations. Within my heart I already, disqualified myself because of these requirements. But keep reminding myself that, because I’m faithful and serving God.
The next day, I called USCIS to make an enquiry about my Green Card application. I pleaded my case to the officer, I told her that my green card has exceeded normal processing time, carrier wise I have been stagnant and I’m about to lose my job. She asked, why? I further explained the nature of my job, which requires level of security clearance and must be an American citizen. To cut the story short, before she ended the call, she advised that I either stick with my current role or change my career path that does not requires security clearance. With humility I said Thank You Ma’am.
The next morning around 6:00 AM, I received a text message from USCIS that there’s an update in regard to my case. I was scheduled for interview in Oct for both Green card and Citizenship. To God be the glory, my citizenship was approved in Oct and did my Oath ceremony in Nov month. When I called my attorney to share my story, he couldn’t believe my story. Two days later he called me back as said, in 22years of his service my case is exceptional.
