· Discuss the pros and cons of buying a new franchise versus an existing franchise.

This assignment also requires that you read the answers posted by your classmates and respond to at least one of those postings. You are required to meet the following guidelines.

· Develop a detailed response using APA format (in-text citation, reference list) and utilizing at least one credible resource in addition to the course resource. Thus, use two resources total.  

· Post your initial response by end of day on Friday.

· Post feedback responding to a classmates post by end of day on Sunday.

After completing the assigned readings (Beginning Your Search) answer the following discussion questions. 

1. Discuss the pros and cons of buying a new franchise versus an existing franchise. Select two major pros and two major cons to focus on. Discuss them and share examples explaining the dynamics of each.

The pros of purchasing a new franchise is being a business owner, financing franchises could be easier to finance, and franchises also have a higher success rate than starting up a business. The disadvantages of opening a franchise are having restrictions on the products you sell and the supplier you buy from, bad performances by other franchises may mess up or interfere with your franchise, and contracts aren’t permanent and financial information is shared with the franchisor.
