Foundational Skills - Presentation Software 

This assignment is one of four that appear in this course to check your skills in word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and file management.  These four assignments together represent 20% of your overall course grade.  This assignment and the feedback you receive from your instructor will help prepare you for the final project in this course.

Students can use any presentation software they have available. The most common software used is Microsoft PowerPoint and the assignment makes reference to this software. Students are not precluded from using Google Slides or Apple Keynote. Just be sure to save the file format as an .ppt or .pptx file.

Students need to demonstrate the following skills within presentation software. From the knowledge you have learned in the readings and videos, create a Microsoft PowerPoint document outlining a topic of interest to you.  Use your understanding of the software to show the following:

As a reminder, you can also use the built-in Help function within the presentation software or use a Google search to learn a particular skill.

Assignment:  Take the key points from the article in this module  Explore the Pros and Cons of Cloud Computing Links to an external site. and develop a PowerPoint presentation.  For the purposes of this assignment, you are allowed to copy the information directly from the article into the presentation.  The goal is to evaluate information, organize it into a logical and coherent presentation, add speakers notes as well as a title slide, conclusion slide, and a credits slide, using the information provided to you from the reading assignment.  This is the only time in this course that you are allowed to have all of your content come from an outside source.  However, you will need to add your own conclusion slide and still give credit to the original author on the credits slide.

Task list:

· Create a Blank Presentation with a title slide that contains your name, INFM 109, the date, and use the title "Cloud Computing"

· Apply an appropriate Design Theme

· Format Text

· Insert at least 2 Shapes or Clip Art where appropriate

· Add Speaker Notes to all slides that have content - this section should be a transcript of what you would say if you were presenting to a live audience

· Add a Conclusion slide

· Add a Credits slides where you reference the article used for this activity

· Submit your finished presentation for review and grading by your instructor
