The student applies mathematical process standards to identify coins, their values, and the relationships among them in order to recognize the need for monetary transactions. Relevance/Benefit: The repetitive nature will enable students to learn the song easily so that it can be repeated throughout a unit on money. This rehearsal will aid in memorizing the names and values of the coins and lead into actually counting money as well as writing out the values using cent signs, decimals, and dollar signs.
