Read Chapters 8 & 9 in the textbook including Debate the Historians, "Afrocentrism, Eurocentrism, Multiculturalism, and Historians of Antiquity" at the end of Chapter 9. Once all reading is complete, respond to the following:

· What is the Afrocentrism criticism of Eurocentrism?

· What is the classicists' criticism of Afrocentrism?

· What are the insights and problems of Bernal's Black Athena?

· How might a multicultural approach help us understand the classical Mediterranean and how it relates to the world today?
