English Assignment
For this assignment, you will be completing 4 tasks and writing about each. They are:
1. Explain the difference between a high-level abstraction and a low-level abstraction. Describe a time at work when you would choose to use a high-level abstraction. Describe a time when you would choose to use a low-level abstraction. Your response should be at least 200 words.
2. Write down five specific examples of biased, sexist, or demeaning language you have recently heard in the media or in your own work or class interactions. Now, revise the insensitive messages to remove the bias . Try to clarify the meaning without being sexist, demeaning, or communicating a bias.
3. After watching the videos in this module about nonverbal language and reading chapter 4, explain a time when nonverbal language was more important than verbal language in your recent interactions. What types of nonverbal messages are you describing (refer to your textbook)? Explain why the nonverbal were more important in this (these) situation(s). This response should be at least 200 words.

4. Take the self-assessment in your textbook on page 106 – 107. Explain the concept of nonverbal immediacy and what you learned about yourself from this activity.
For full credit, this assignment should be no less than 500 words total for all four questions.
