Form 2: Diagnosis and Rule-Out
The purpose of this form is to organize the diagnosis of the client in your Case Study. This form will not be used for Case Study 11 & 14 – these have their own directions.

7. Differential Diagnosis. This is the diagnosis that may be of consideration but does not quite fit – you are trying to rule it out. An example of a differential diagnosis for bipolar disorder (DSM V, pg. 167) are: manic episodes; mood disorder due to a medical condition; substance abuse mood disorder; and ADHD.
8. Defend your diagnosis. An example for the defense of major depression would be: Client has 7 of the 9 criterial for Major Depressive disorder (DSM V, pg. 161).
