Summary of strengths:

I do not have many strengths for pediatrics since I rarely treated any patient in the ER. I did work for an ER that some pediatric were brought in and I had the pleasure of splinting a pediatric arm while we called rescue to transport to another facility, and I have used ECG on a pediatric patient as well.

Opportunities for growth:

I have so much to learn and grow with this course, I do not feel confident so its like starting nursing school all over again. I am excited but very nervous at the same time.

Now, write three to four (3–4) possible goals and objectives for this practicum experience. Ensure that they follow the SMART Strategy, as described in the Learning Resources.

1: Learn pediatric lab values, I will create a template and self-test myself, knowing labs value will allow me to quickly catch any remarkable labs, I will be proficient by the end of the term.

2: Learn pediatric vital signs, I will create a template and self-test myself, knowing labs value will allow me to quickly catch any remarkable labs, I will be proficient by the end of the term.

3: Learn proper communication skills with adolescents, I will review best practices for communication with adolescents, I will be comfortable by the end of the term.
