Company Selection and Sources

For the purpose of this assignment, I choose Walmart Inc, which is giant multinational corporation with a myriad of stores worldwide.

The organizational issue in this company is the management, in that they have layers of managers which make it difficult to have a clear direction the organization needs to focus on (Doherty & King, 2008). The managers and the leaders often fail to deliberate on the future strategies for the company. In addition, they fail to communicate proper messages to the members of the organizations and the employees.

Being a multinational, corporation, there are a myriad of activities that ought to take place for it to make profit and endure competition from other corporations. Without a clear direction from the management and top leadership, the organization lacks the necessary alignment which is critical in helping the company in the adaptation, transformation and shaping the future (Doherty & King, 2008). Notably, such activities ensure are critical in ensuring the long-term organization’s goals of the company are achieved as well as ensuring its sustained growth.

The above issue hinders the organizational efficiency in that, having too many managers who do not offer clear directions of the company leaves the employees without clear goals that they should focus upon to ensure the efficient progress of the company (Doherty & King, 2008). In addition, such individuals may lack an understanding of how and where they fit or matter in the company. In short, they lack knowledge on their duties and responsibilities in the company thus; they work to get their pay thus pulling the company’s progress backwards. It is critical therefore to ensure that the employees of the company are informed on the common goals of the organization to ensure the primary goals set are achieved.
