Choose one of the following two questions as the topic for your Week Seven multimedia presentation:
1. Based on your assigned reading in Chapter 18 , discuss the benefits and risks of market timing . Should an investor attempt to time the market? Read the following article that indicates passive management has been gaining popularity ( Passive Investing article (Links to an external site.) ). Do you believe that an active management or passive management approach is best for most investors? Please explain your reasoning and provide researched data to support your opinion .
2. Based on your assigned reading in Chapter 19 , discuss the benefits of investing internationally (i.e., globally as opposed to strictly U.S. companies). What are some of the political , economic, and financial risks of investing in other countries? Using the internet, review the performance of international stocks at a website such as the WSJ Market Data Center (Links to an external site.) . Select one or two countries and compare the performance of stocks from those countries to the performance of U.S. company stocks. Would you recommend international diversification for the average investor? Why or why not?
To be eligible for full credit, your multimedia presentation must include narration with your voice . Please introduce yourself before speaking.
