Task
Please briefly answer the theoretical questions below based on the content from Unit 5 to 8, presenting examples that support your assumptions. You are
expected to complete your answer with demonstrable research. OECD reports and published statistics can be used as main source of secondary data.
A. (35%) With reference to the theories and practice covered content from Unit 5, explain the economic developments in one country of your choice.
You must choose ONE country and consider the concepts below for your report:
• Aggregated demand and supply, and the shifts on AD/AS curves
• Economic cycles
• Short run vs long run
• Fiscal Policy
• Government spending; deficits and debt
• The multiplier effect
• The crowding-out effect
B. (65 %) Considering the topics discussed in Units 6, 7 & 8, write a brief essay about the role of the monetary system for dealing with the impact of COVID 19 in a country of your choice. Please note that you must consider the concepts of ‘Money growth’, ‘national debt’, ‘circle of income’ and ‘inflation’, and also the outcomes of being under an open economy
