Huntington Ingalls Industries is an American based company that deals in shipbuilding. It is the largest military shipbuilding company in the country. It provides a wide range of services to its partners in the industry and government. Apparently, the government is ranked at no. 371 fortune 500. It was formed back in 2011 as part of the Grumman company. The high profitability index of the company has enabled it to increase its productive and promote diversity. Currently, the company has three divisions that play an integral part in its daily operations Technical Solutions, Ingalls Shipbuilding and Newport News Shipbuilding. The divisions ensure that the company daily operations take place in a highly coordinated manner that plays a key role in the creation of order and understanding.

Huntington Ingalls Industries is keen at applying generic strategies to ensure that it creates a perfect position within the military shipping industry. It applies the generic strategies to ensure that it remains competitive by providing high standard products within the market that has a positive appeal within the industry that they operate within. A look at the management explains the competitive strategies that the company is keen at applying when it comes to strategies. The use of porter generic strategies is a key factor that Huntington Ingalls Industries is keen at applying (Pretorius, 2018). Cost leadership strategy is part of the management practice that the company is keen at applying. It gives the company a competitive advantage by ensuring that the company increases its profitability rates while still charging averagely for its products. It also increases the market share by charging much lower prices.

Most government within southern America, Europe, Asia and Africa have taken the initiative of partnering with the company based on the privilege that comes with paring with the company. The action has positively turned out as the market is willing to participate in the process considering the benefits that would be associated with the process.
The expansion moves of the company mainly involves partnering with other local companies and government to produce quality products for the market. It is a positive practice that has led the company to improve its productivity rate in a positive way. The factor facilitates the company to have a competitive advantage over other military shipping companies in different parts of the globe (Kochhar & Hitt, 2018). The action entails that the activities that they do in the building process does not cause any form of environmental harm to the surrounding community. The creation of the disposal unit ensures that the water that the company uses is perfectly treated before the product is disposed to the market.
