Final Reflection Paper

Instructions:

Explain the major influences the study of technology and society has had upon you. Cite specific examples from the readings, assignments, documentaries, and other materials used in this course. Additionally, discuss how the study of technology has influenced your thoughts on your chosen field/major/occupation.

References:

You must cite a minimum of four references/examples from the course material. Also cite at least one example how the study of technology has influenced your thoughts on your chosen field of study. You may cite your journal entries as an un-published manuscript for this assignment.

Submissions:

· Submit your paper in MS Word format through the assignment link on Blackboard.

· Papers not submitted in MS Word will not be graded and students will be notified. Late penalties will apply until submitted in the correct format.

· All papers will be run through SafeAssign. Papers with over 25% of content marked as plagiarized by SafeAssign will not be graded. Students will be notified and must correct their submissions. Late penalties will apply.

· Papers that fall short or over the minimum page limit may be subject to a 10% per page deduction.

Format:

· 3-4 pages double-spaced (this includes the title page and reference page in the page count)

· 12 point Times New Roman font with standard character spacing

· 1 inch margins

· Section headers follow the organization as shown in the organization and content section of this document.

· Incorrectly formatted papers will not be graded and the student will be notified. Late penalties will apply until corrected and resubmitted.

Style:

· APA format must be used but do not include a table of contents, running head, or abstract.

· You must use inline citations and all your citations must be tied to a reference in the list and vice versa.

· Do not write in first person. Write in third person objective.

· Only 1 quote of less than 20 words may be used per section. No quotes longer than 20 words are permitted in the paper.

Organization and Content

Papers are to be organized with section headers per the structure listed below.

· Title Page (on a separate page, no section heading)

· Introduction

Provide a concise thesis statement that tells the reader the main objective of your paper. Next, provide a brief overview of the content organization the reader will see in your paper that supports your thesis (no longer than 1 paragraph).

· Reflections on the study of technology and society (2-3 pages)

· Explain at least four examples/influences the study of technology and society has had upon you.

· Explain at least one example/influence the study of technology and society has influenced your thoughts on your chosen field/major/occupation.

· Conclusion

Provide a one paragraph summary of the thesis and supporting evidence discussed in your paper (recommended length 1 paragraph).

· References (on a separate page, with the header “References”)

List references in alphabetical order using APA formatting. You must have a minimum of four peer-reviewed journal articles in addition to other types of references (i.e. books, websites).
