Assessment Description

Reflection as a professional practitioner is important for personal development and improvement. As a reading/literacy specialist, it is important to reflect upon practices used when supporting both students and colleagues.

Your Final Reflection will consist of a Part 1 and a Part 2 to allow you to reflect on your experiences of working with both a mentor and a colleague.

Part 1: Mentor Experience

In your digital Clinical Field Experience Journal, write 250-500 words reflecting on the following:

· Summary of your discussion with your mentor following the creation of the intervention reports.

· Your opinion of the entire intervention process with each student including developing interventions, implementing interventions, and progress monitoring/assessing.

· The importance of communicating with families throughout the intervention process.

· How this process will affect your future practice as a reading/literacy specialist, specifically pertaining to working with students who are struggling in reading or writing.

Part 2: Colleague Experience

In an additional 250-500 words in your digital Clinical Field Experience Journal, reflect on the results of the survey given to the colleague you supported throughout this course.

Reflect on the following.

· Summary of the survey answers from your colleague.

· What you did well and what you would change in the future.

· How the process of supporting a colleague with setting literacy goals for students as well as providing research and resources will shape your future practice as a reading/literacy specialist.
