Instructions for Submitting a Career Development Letter of Intent

The department of TVA is pleased to announce a joint collaboration with Asgard University to fund pilot research that broadly focuses on cancer, the hallmarks of cancer and novel therapeutics.

For the purposes of this proposal, you can use any cancer type. You will also use the hallmarks of cancer (feel free to use any of the 10 hallmarks of cancer) and everything that you have read from the journal articles and what was discussed in class, to develop a proposal to either further study a particular part of the cancer or any type of therapeutic that is discussed in the 2011 Hallmark of Cancer: Next generation paper (specifically figure 6, see below).

In your hypothesis include the cancer that you are using and what you are trying to achieve. Your specific aims are three different mini projects, that fall under your overall hypothesis, and they have a slight connection to each other, but are still slightly independent, just in case one of your aims fails, you can still technically do the other two.

1. Brief description of the proposed study or research plan that succinctly addresses all of the following sections: (Limit to two- three pages.)

a) Scientific basis (rationale) for the proposed research and its relationship to other major research findings. (1) One-two paragraphs for background (2) Include your hypothesis in this section
