Final Project , don't say on time and clear and you do not
1. Executive Summary. Summarize in one paragraph what your team is planning to do. This is basically an overview of your entire project.
We have all decided that we want to do something in the sports field. One thing that we have thought about is Spikeball. It is a sport that is seen on campus at ASU all the time and it is great for everyone. More people need to know about this portable and fun sport for people of all ages. If we can get into the Suburban middle class family market, than everyone will know more about this sport and want to play such an easy and portable thing. The awareness for this needs to be greater when it comes to families. It is in colleges right now but can be much bigger. I think we could go to a local sports store like Dick’s, Big 5, etc. and ask families coming in if they have heard about it and to answer a few questions. This will benchmark where we can go from there. We want to go after families with money to vacation so they can take this game with them wherever they go which is why middle class families are ideal.
2. Statement of the Problem. What problem are you trying to solve?
Portable sports has been a tough thing to solve. Conventional sports like Football, Soccer, and Baseball require a field designed for it. With Spikeball it is portable and easy to bring anywhere. We want to solve the portable sport problem.
3. Objectives. What are your objectives?
Our objective is to make people see that there are alternative portable sports than croquet, frisbee, and badminton. If we can get into the market of making it built into middle class suburban homes it can make this sport so much more well known.
4. Metrics: How do you know that your objectives are met?
When Suburban middle class families are buying into having this in their home. Families are where the real money is.
Our metrics will start with a base survey to ask our target audience what they know about spike ball (if anything) and if an easily portable game like this would be something they are interested in seeing. We can also explain this type of game to families and talk about how it can be an almost all ages game that families with young children can play all the way up to the existing market of college students. This game is seen a lot in beach cities so we will have to make sure that the local areas we are marketing posses parks or that if families being targeted have space in their backyard.
5. Discussion. Is there additional information that would justify your objectives? What challenges do you expect to come across? How do you know that you're done?
The challenge is this is already an established product and there is already marketing done for it. Distinguishing ourselves from that will be difficult. It will also be difficult to even know if we made a difference in people’s minds about this. Going back to families and seeing their reaction to a campaign we created will determine if we made a difference. Judging based on previous questions of the first round to new questions in the second round of going to these places would be great.
