Business Communication Final Paper

I would like for you to write a 6-8 page reflection paper. I would like for you to simply answer the following:

Q: What did I ( as in ‘you’ ) learn about

business communication this term?

As always, be sure to reference our textbook and other scholarly sources as you write. Further, be sure to write this paper much like you would a research paper. The only caveat is that I am fine with y’all speaking in the first person throughout this piece given that the overarching question at play.

As mentioned, I am looking for 6-8 ‘full’ pages of content in addition to your title and bibliography pages. In sum, you should submit anywhere from 8-10 pages. Note that absolutely no late papers will be accepted (unless an accommodation has been provided beforehand). The paper is Due Dec. 2nd at the beginning of class.

PART II (Oral Presentation worth 10% of your overall grade):

For the ‘Part II’ portion of your final I would like for you to prepare a 5-minute oral presentation to share with rest the class. Because my aim is to see y’all’s confidence in front of crowds increase more than anything, I would like for you to pick a topic with which you are familiar (albeit not a religious or political one), and share it with the class. In other words, get creative and share something you’re excited about. A presentation sign-up sheet will be provided beforehand.

2. Consider your audience

3. Practice beforehand (use your mirror[s])

4. Avoid being sheepish

5. Speak with clarity and conviction

6. Make eye contact

7. Lean on nonverbal alongside verbal queues as you present

8. Aim to convince

9. Speak ‘with’ and not ‘at’

10. Channel your confidence

Logistically, and content wise, please...

1. Identify an (something your passionate about) topic of your choosing

2. Prepare a 5 minute oral presentation

3. Present it to the class (front and center)
